With panoramic bay views on a peninsula property facing North and West, the existing 3-story house did little to take advantage of the amazing potential and opportunities present. For this stellar location, the client sought to celebrate the spectacular views through taller ceilings, more windows, outdoor living spaces, and a more gracious master suite.
The design features a low pitched roof configuration that eases up out to the West, capturing the afternoon light. The ground level rises up with earth-toned stone-clad walls, creating a sturdy base for the stucco and metal-clad exterior walls above.
Upon arrival to the house, guests can catch a glimpse of the ocean view beyond through the tall glass doors. There is a firepit by the seawall, and at night, it can be seen glowing on axis with the entry. The infinity edge of the pool and spa follow the arc of the seawall, split by a path down to the dock.
Expansive sliding glass doors and windows lead to deep terraces that wrap around the house, with an outdoor BBQ with bartop seating on the North side adjacent to the kitchen. The master suite and study benefit from the added light entering through the long transom windows. The angled walls, a remnant of the previous structure, give the master bath tub a picture-perfect view up the bay.
